John "Chip" Chipura - My American Hero
December 5, 2007
(Age 15)

It started with this private message from Matt Collins on Bob's 4cycle Fourm:

"Sir I was on your website and saw what your daughter did at the races, that is an awesome tribute, I served in the Marines with one of the fire fighters who died on 9/11, he survived the Beirut Bombing of the Marines Barracks in Lebanon, only to be killed that day, It would be a honor if I could send you his patch from his fire fighter unit for your daughter to have in remembrance of Chip."

Semper Fidelis
Matt Collins
US Marines Lebanon 1983

A patch from Engine 219, New York Fire Department, Brooklyn, New York City, was placed at the foot of the bronze soldier statue at the Beruit Memorial here during a recent visit by the FDNY.My dad and I were speechless. Out of all the awards and honors that has been bestowed upon me this honor is the greatest of all. We ordered a new Impact jacket to wear the patch on and it will be embroider with Chip's name on it. We also ordered decals for my karts and trailer. I will always wear it with true American pride and compassion. Thank you Mr. Collins for giving me a real hero who can I honor and pull strength from in the times of need. I shudder to think what this country would become without people like my Lifetime Hero...John "Chip" Chipura

My Patriotism
September 11, 2001
(Age 9 through 12)

After the cowardly attack & destruction of the Twin Towers I decided to show my patriotism by singing the National Anthem at every kart event we entered. It was kind of scary at first but got easier along the way. The funny part, it made my Daddy get all teared-up and my Dad never ever cries. Here are the list of tracks:

  • Barton Coliseum - Little Rock, Ar
Altel Arena - Little Rock, Ar
Kartways of Arkansas - Warren, Ar
Atoka Raceway Park - Atoka, Tn
Mississippi Indoor Shootout - Canton, Ms
Silver Eagle Speedway - Senatobia, Ms
Deer Creek Speedway - Vicksburg, Ms
    Adventure Speedway - Raymond, Ms
    Tunica Nationals - Tunica, Ms
    Brandon Indoor - Brandon, Ms
    Optimist Park, Little Rock, Ar

Not only do I support my Troops, I also support my Sweet Homeland...America

My Christmas Give-Away
December 17, 2004
(Age - 12 years old)

It was the day before my Birthday. I was soon to be a teenager and Mom said after 12 years it was time to clean out my toy box & garage. Through those years I was lucky to have good parents because I loaded a sixteen foot flatbed trailer with toys, stuffed animals & other stuff. I decided to give my toys to the local children who really needed a good Christmas. Dad & I hauled the trailer to a vacant parking lot in the middle of Star City. I put out signs saying, "Free Christmas Toys". In less than an hour the toys were gone. It really made me feel good to see those children looking through the toys I had to offer. My Dad told me it was a good thing to do & he said he felt very proud of me, words I love to hear coming from my Dad.

Learn to Swim Program
aka Megan's Water Lilies
(summer months)

I am an accelerated swimmer with seven years on the Monticello Marlin Swim Team. Certified in CPR, Red Cross First Aid and a swimming instructor. I believe everyone should know the basics of swimming and be capable of treading water for 10 minutes without the use of a PFD. (personal floatation device) I have access to the Star City Indoor Pool, there I offer swimming classes during the summer months to children from the ages of 4 to 10 years of age. Learning to swim could very well save your life one day. Don't be an Anchor...Learn to Swim

My Track/Event Sponsorships
Supporting My Sport
(2003 to Present)

Anyone who knows me can easily tell that I love kart racing. It is my true passion. My dad has always taught me to never become a greedy person. He believes greed is the worst form of evil, I agree with dad. Karting and everything that goes with it has rewarded me in many ways. Several years ago I told dad we should give something back to the karting community. Dad said it was a good idea and we named my team Megan Ellis Motorsports. We started offering sponsorships to the tracks we raced and some we did not race. At this time we have given away over $7200 in cash and prizes...mostly prizes. Racing jackets, impact wrenches, electric scooters, bicycles are just some of the prizes we have given away.
